Visitor numbers surpassed 21 million as hospitality capacity and tourism licences expanded across the city.
Annual tourism spending in Madinah reached SAR 52 billion in 2025, marking a 22% increase compared to the previous year, as visitor numbers surpassed 21 million. The figures reflect continued expansion in hospitality capacity and tourism services across the city.
Licensed hospitality facilities grew to 610 in 2025, representing a 35% increase, while the total number of hotel rooms exceeded 76,000, up 24% year on year. Licensed travel and tourism agencies also expanded to more than 240, a 29% rise, indicating broader private sector participation in the tourism ecosystem.
The updates were highlighted during a field visit to Madinah by Tourism Minister Ahmed Al Khateeb as part of a tour titled ‘The Spirit of Ramadan’, which also included Jeddah and Makkah. The visit focused on assessing the readiness of hospitality facilities and visitor services ahead of the Ramadan season, alongside a review of ongoing and newly launched tourism projects.
During the tour, the minister inaugurated the Radisson Hotel Madinah, a project valued at more than SAR 39 million and financed by the Tourism Development Fund. The project forms part of efforts to attract international hospitality brands and enhance service quality for visitors.
