Michelin Guide Unveils First Bib Gourmand Picks in Saudi Arabia
The Bib Gourmand designation honours restaurants that provide high-quality food at moderate prices, offering a different tier from the traditional Michelin stars.

The Michelin Guide has officially launched in Saudi Arabia, revealing its inaugural list of Bib Gourmand restaurants across key cities — including Riyadh, Jeddah, AlUla, and AlKhobar.
The Bib Gourmand designation honours restaurants that provide high-quality food at moderate prices, offering a different tier from the traditional Michelin stars.
In Riyadh, the selections include Tameesa, a popular breakfast and Saudi fusion spot known for its modern take on traditional dishes; Mirzam, a fine-casual eatery offering contemporary Middle Eastern flavours; and Kayzo, a Japanese restaurant praised for its clean flavours and minimalist approach.
In Jeddah, honourees include Myazu, a modern Japanese fine-dining restaurant; Niyyali, a Lebanese-inspired concept combining tradition with contemporary presentation; and Toki, an upscale Asian restaurant with an extensive dim sum menu.
Meanwhile, Joontos in AlUla earned recognition for its innovative use of local ingredients and serene desert-facing setting, while AlKhobar’s additions reflect the city’s growing reputation for elevated dining along the Eastern coast.
The Bib Gourmand recognitions precede the Michelin Guide’s upcoming announcements of starred restaurants, set for November 15th and December 15th. The initiative, launched in collaboration with the Culinary Arts Commission under the Saudi Ministry of Culture, highlights the Kingdom’s emerging status as a regional hub for gastronomy and hospitality.
