Ministry of Electricity Raises Renewable Energy Target to 58% by 2040

In an effort to expand green power, the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has announced that it will raise its targets for renewable energy. Having previously aimed to generate enough renewable energy to make up 42% of the share of overall energy in Egypt by 2030, the ministry has now raised that target to 58% by 2040.

Earlier this year, Egypt received USD 6 billion in investments in renewable energy projects.
