Ministry of Supply Forms Committee to Determine Bread Prices
The Ministry of Supply has formed a committee to study price changes and determine and monitor bread prices.
The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade has formed a committee to monitor the price of bread sold at non-governmental bakeries. The committee will convene on a monthly basis to track price fluctuations in raw materials and determine appropriate prices as well as monitor the bread being produced to ensure it meets regulations.
The ministry has stated that the price of flour has decreased from EGP 28 per kilogram to EGP 18, signaling a decrease in prices of bread in bakeries nationwide. The ministry and the committee is also working to assist non-governmental bakeries in acquiring licenses and operating.
