Ministry of Youth & Sports Launches Mental Wellness Centres for Youth
The initiative begins with a specialised training programme to equip mental wellness staff across ten Youth & Sports Directorates.

The Ministry of Youth & Sports has announced the launch of youth mental wellness centres at youth hubs across Egypt, aiming to promote mental well-being and provide psychological support through qualified specialists.
The initiative is a collaboration between the Central Administration of Youth Centres & Youth Organisations, the Central Administration of Sports Medicine, and multiple partners, including the Fahm Psycho Support Foundation, the General Secretariat for Mental Health & Addiction Treatment, the World Health Organisation (WHO), and UNICEF Egypt.
The first phase of the project includes a specialised training programme designed to equip staff at mental safety units in ten Youth & Sports Directorates, covering the governorates of Minya, Kafr El-Sheikh, South Sinai, Alexandria, Qalyubia, Port Said, Red Sea, Aswan, Sharqia, and Beni Suef.
The Ministry of Youth & Sports emphasised that youth centres play a vital role beyond sports, fostering safe and inclusive spaces that address the broader needs of young people—including mental health awareness, support services, and overall well-being.
