Mleiha Dairy Farm Sets Guinness Record for Largest A2A2 Cow Farm

Mleiha Dairy Farm has been officially recognised by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest farm dedicated to A2A2 breed cows, housing more than 6,400 animals in the Mleiha area of Sharjah. The designation coincides with the opening of the adjacent Mleiha Dairy Factory, strengthening the emirate’s push to expand domestic food production at scale.
The newly inaugurated dairy factory spans around 20,000 square metres and has a production capacity of 600 tonnes, placing it among the region’s larger dairy processing facilities. Its packaging lines are capable of producing 4,500 containers per hour, covering fresh milk and yoghurt in 1-litre and 200-millilitre bottles, as well as yoghurt and labneh in multiple sizes. The facility uses eco-friendly packaging designed to comply with international standards.
Milk production is supported by a rotary milking parlour with 80 platforms, allowing up to 500 cows to be milked per hour. Daily output is nearing 100,000 litres, with cows milked three times a day. The farm’s barns are organised by age group and supported by veterinary care, hygiene systems and monitoring processes aimed at maintaining animal health and production efficiency.
Feed operations form a central part of the farm’s infrastructure. A silage harvesting and chopping machine covers up to 80 hectares per day, while a baling press produces around 50 tonnes of organic feed per hour. According to project briefings, the cows are raised on natural diets and managed under care protocols designed specifically for the A2A2 breed.
