NEOM's Green Hydrogen Project Begins Major Recruitment for 2026 Launch

NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) has initiated a recruitment drive as it advances the construction and operations of the world’s largest green hydrogen plant, located at Oxagon in Saudi Arabia’s NEOM region. This initiative is part of NGHC’s broader efforts to build a robust workforce across various functions, including corporate, Environment, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS), risk, operations and maintenance, finance, IT and cybersecurity.

A recent virtual career fair hosted by NGHC drew over 9,000 registrations. During the event, participants had the opportunity to interact with NGHC’s talent acquisition team and hiring managers, gaining insights into the available career opportunities.

As of August 2024, NGHC’s workforce comprises 16% female employees and 43% Saudi nationals, highlighting the company's dedication to diversity and the development of local talent. The company plans to collaborate with Saudi universities to encourage young people to pursue careers in the green hydrogen industry. Future partnerships, initiatives, and training programs will further focus on enhancing the skills of the Saudi workforce, reinforcing NGHC's commitment to nurturing local talent.

The green hydrogen plant, a joint venture between ACWA Power, Air Products, and NEOM, is set to produce up to 600 tonnes of carbon-free fuel daily by the end of 2026. The green hydrogen will be transported as green ammonia and utilized in hard-to-abate sectors such as heavy industry and transportation. Once operational, the plant is expected to reduce global CO2 emissions by up to 5 million tonnes annually.
