National Initiative Supports Families of Children With Disabilities
The National Council for Persons With Disabilities launches a new campaign titled ‘My Family is My Power’.
The National Council for Persons With Disabilities is launching a campaign to raise awareness of the support that is available to families of children with disabilities. Under the slogan ‘My Family is My Power’, the initiative is held in collaboration with government service providers and multiple non-governmental organisations.
The campaign looks to shed light on the essential role that families play in the integration of their children into society. It will also raise awareness on how these families can seek out help in the form of training and education, particularly to develop their children’s skills.
‘My Family is My Power’ will take place over four stages at the provincial level through rehabilitation awareness meetups with families. It will also honour people with disabilities who have made great strides in the fields of science, arts, and sports, amongst others.
