New Abu Dhabi Programme Trains Youth in Emergency Response
Practice-based training and specialised workshops cover operational frameworks and risk assessment, supporting the Our Community is Prepared campaign.
The Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Youth Council, has launched the “Abu Dhabi Youth in Emergency Response” initiative to strengthen preparedness and engage young people as active contributors to the emirate’s crisis response system. The initiative aims to involve youth in local response efforts while raising public awareness and supporting broader goals such as enhancing risk response, maintaining business continuity, and reducing disruption during emergencies. At its core, the programme focuses on empowering and training young people through practical, hands-on methodologies that prepare them to participate effectively within Abu Dhabi’s crisis management ecosystem. It includes specialised workshops that introduce participants to the Centre’s operational frameworks, digital platforms, and risk assessment approaches, and aligns with the objectives of the “Our Community is Prepared” campaign. The collaboration brings together institutional expertise and youth participation, reinforcing the role of young people as contributors to community resilience. Through structured training and awareness initiatives, the programme seeks to build a cohort of youth equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to support coordinated emergency responses across sectors.
