New Initiative to Bring Emirates ID Registration to UAE Schools
Run by the Federal Authority for Identity Citizenship Customs and Ports Security the initiative aims to save time for families and support electronic population record updates across the UAE.
A new UAE intiative, Basma 15, is set to deliver Emirates ID biometric services directly on school campuses for students aged 15 and above in the UAE. Launched by the Federal Authority for Identity Citizenship Customs and Ports Security, the proactive programme sends specialised teams to schools to collect biometric data from eligible students so they can complete identity registration requirements without needing to visit service centres. The authority stated that the service is designed to simplify identity procedures while saving time and effort for students and their families. By conducting key steps on site at schools, the initiative enables timely access to Emirates ID services for those who meet the age requirement and removes the need to arrange separate trips for initial registration processes. Basma 15 is part of a wider effort to improve accessibility to government services and enhance user experience through more efficient and customer-focused delivery, according to the authority. It also supports the UAE’s digital transformation agenda by facilitating electronic updates to population records and improving the efficiency of related government processes through streamlined data collection and processing carried out during school visits.
