New Long-Term Visa For E-Gamers Launched in Dubai
Dubai has launched a new long-term visa option for e-gamers who will contribute to the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033.
A new long-term ‘Dubai gaming visa’ to support talented individuals and creators in the e-gaming sector has been launched in Dubai. The gaming visa, under Dubai Culture, is similar to the golden visa, which is valid for 10 years. The new initiative embodies the aspirations of Dubai Ruler, Sheikh Al-Makhtoum, according to the Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, which hopes to encourage entrepreneurs, investors, game developers, designers and programmers to relocate to the UAE. The move is part of the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033 to position Dubai among the top ten cities in the global gaming industry, significantly boost the sector’s contribution to the growth of Dubai’s digital economy, and increase the GDP by approximately USD 1 billion by 2033. Dubai Culture hopes to encourage talented individuals to contribute to the creative and cultural landscape of the emirate, as well as ultimately create 30,000 new jobs linked to the gaming industry.
