Over One Million Saudis Trained in AI Under SAMAI Initiative

More than one million Saudi citizens have received training in artificial intelligence skills through the SAMAI initiative, with women representing 52% of participants and men 48%. The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority announced the total trained is equivalent to 9% of the working age population, marking a national-scale effort to expand AI skills across the Kingdom.

The authority said employees constituted 70% of participants and students 30%, with engagement recorded from regions across the Kingdom.

Advanced programmes and training camps have also been launched, including courses on AI agentic technologies aimed at enabling the use of modern AI tools. New initiatives targeting specialists, scholars and researchers in the AI field will soon be introduced.

The SAMAI initiative was launched in September 2024 in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, providing training in AI applications, ethics and practical tools for business and daily use.
