Long-awaited biking initiative, Cairo Bike, finally launched its first phase with 26 operational stations and over 250 bicycles dispersed around Cairo.
A two kilometre long lane has also been paved in Downtown's Talaat Harb street, making room for bikers to navigate safely through Cairo's bustling streets. At a rate of EGP 1 per hour, the bicycles can be rented through Cairo Bikes' website with paid for on credit.
And while yearly subscription rates normally start at EGP 600 for Egyptian citizens, high school and university students can subscribe to that same package for EGP 200. Similarly, while hourly rates for citizens are EGP 1, students can book it for 70 piastres.
