Port Said Intl Film Festival Launches First Edition This September
Held in honour of Mahmoud Yassin, the festival will spotlight Egyptian and international cinema from September 18th to the 22nd.

The inaugural edition of the Port Said International Film Festival is set to take place from September 18th to the 22nd, 2025, in the coastal city of Port Said. The event is named in honour of the late Egyptian actor Mahmoud Yassin, a Port Said native, and is organised under the patronage of Major General Moheb Habashy, Governor of Port Said, and Minister of Culture Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno. Film critic Ahmed Asser serves as the festival’s president.
The festival will include a diverse programme of Egyptian and international film screenings, alongside workshops, seminars, and panel discussions aimed at fostering dialogue between filmmakers, industry professionals, and audiences.
Supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Syndicate of Film Professions led by Musaad Fouda, and the Port Said Association for Theatrical and Cultural Arts chaired by Abdel Salam El-Alfy, the festival aims to establish a lasting platform for cinematic exchange while enhancing Port Said’s cultural footprint in the regional film scene.
Full programme details will be released soon through the festival’s official website and social media channels.
