Prayer Areas for People With Disabilities Alloted in Grand Mosque

The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques has designated and equipped prayer areas with the latest facilities and services for people with disabilities and the elderly at the Grand Mosque in Makkah during Ramadan. These areas have been provided with Qur’ans and Zamzam water.

For men, the authority has allocated prayer spaces on the first floor near Gate 91, the first floor near the Shubaika Bridge at Gate 68, the southern courtyard prayer area at Ajyad Bridge, the western courtyard prayer area at Shubaika, two prayer areas in the Saudi Third Expansion at Gate 123, and the eastern courtyard prayer area.

For women, the designated spaces include the ground floor at Gate 88, the first floor at Gate 65 in Shubaika, Prayer Area 15 overlooking the Kaaba’s circumambulation area, the southern courtyard at Ajyad Bridge, the western courtyard at Shubaika, and the eastern courtyard prayer area.

The authority has ensured accessibility by installing ramps, clear signboards, and special pathways marked with guidance stickers to facilitate movement. Manual and electric wheelchairs are available free of charge for visitors requiring assistance.
