Public Health Authority Declares Saudi Arabia is Currently Mpox Free

The Public Health Authority (Weqaya) has announced that no cases of mpox have been confirmed in the Kingdom.

The World Health Organisation recently declared that the spread of the clade 1 strain is cause for a public health emergency of international concern.

Weqaya is implementing preventative strategies such as awareness campaigns, epidemiological investigations, and a coordinated response to infectious diseases with significant epidemiological impact, as well as encouraging the public to rely on official sources of information only  and practise healthy behaviours.
