RTA Launches New Intercity Bus Route to Connect Dubai & Sharjah

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the launch of a new intercity bus route between Dubai and Sharjah, set to begin operating on Friday, May 2nd. The service, designated as route E308, will run between Stadium Bus Station in Dubai and Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah, offering commuters a one-way fare of AED 12.

Alongside the launch of the new intercity line, the RTA has revealed a number of adjustments to 14 existing routes across Dubai, also coming into effect on May 2nd. These changes are part of the authority’s wider strategy to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of the public transport network.

Among the modifications, Route 17 will now end at Baniyas Square Metro Station instead of Al Sabkha Bus Station. Route 24 will be rerouted within the Al Nahda 1 area, while Route 44 will shift from Al Rebat Street to serve Dubai Festival City. Route 56 will extend its path to reach DWC Staff Village. Both Route 66 and Route 67 will be modified to serve the Al Ruwayah Farm area.

Route 32C will reduce service between Al Jafiliya Bus Station and Al Satwa Bus Station, with passengers advised to use Route F27 for continued travel to Al Satwa. Route C26 will now stop at Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2, replacing its previous stop at Al Jafiliya. Route E16 will terminate at Union Bus Station instead of Al Sabkha, while Route F12 will take a new path via Kuwait Street and cut its section between Al Satwa Roundabout and Al Wasl Park.

Additional adjustments include a rerouting of Route F47 within the Jebel Ali Industrial Area, and the extension of Route F54 to serve the new JAFZA South labour camp. Route X92 will now stop at Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 1 rather than Al Jafiliya Bus Station.
