Renovations of Museum of IMHOTEP Are Nearly Complete

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has announced that efforts to restore the Museum of Imhotep in Saqqara are nearly complete, and that the museum is due to open soon.

Named after venerated ancient Egyptian architect Imhotep, who was credited with designing Djoser's step pyramid at Saqqara, the museum was first opened in 2006 and contains around 500 artefacts - many of which date back to the fifth and sixth dynasties - that had been discovered in nearby archaeological sites.

Renovations on the museum include upgrades to the various services offered to visitors, with a focus on accommodating guests with disabilities.
