Saudi Arabia Opens First Direct Shipping Route to Syria via Jeddah
A new maritime link aims to boost trade and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s role in global logistics.

Saudi Arabia has launched its first direct shipping route to Syria via Jeddah Islamic Port. The new service, EXS6, operated by Caerus Company, establishes a direct maritime link between Jeddah Islamic Port, Iskenderun Port in Turkiye, and Latakia Port in Syria.
With a capacity of 858 standard containers, the route is expected to facilitate import and export activities, streamlining the movement of goods between the three ports. The initiative aligns with broader efforts to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s role in global shipping networks while improving port efficiency and trade logistics.
This development supports the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which seeks to position Saudi Arabia as a central logistics hub linking Asia, Europe and Africa.
