Saudi Drivers Experience 92% Fewer Road Accidents With Solar Lighting
The adoption of solar-powered lights at intersections has reduced operational costs, while improving visibility and road safety.
The General Authority of Roads in Saudi Arabia has announced a 92% decrease in road accidents since the installation of solar-powered lighting at 149 road intersections across the kingdom.
The initiative has improved traffic safety by improving visibility at night and clarifying pathways for drivers. The adoption of these solar lights has also reduced operational costs and carbon emissions, compared to traditional electrically-powered lights.
The General Authority of Roads reported receiving nearly 12,000 comments through the call centre and digital channels, all of which convey an increase in customer satisfaction of approximately 89%.
