Saudi Gaming is Leveling Up With New E-sports District in Qiddiya City
The district will be able to host up to 25 e-sports teams at once, as well as the headquarters of over 30 video game companies.
Qiddiya, an entertainment megaproject in Riyadh, is about to be a new haven for gamers with the establishment of a new e-sports district.
The district is being built to host up to 25 e-sports teams at a time, as well as the headquarters of over 30 video game companies. The plan also includes four e-sports venues, one of which may become amongst the three largest venues of its kind in the world. These venues will be able to hold 73,000 people in total, and host some of the biggest e-sports tournaments year-round.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been positioning itself as a global hub for gaming, having hosted Gamers8 - one of the largest gaming festivals in the world - earlier this year.
