Sharjah Charity International Plans 1.2 Million Iftar Meals on Ramadan

Sharjah Charity International has announced plans to distribute 1.2 million iftar meals during Ramadan as part of its annual Jood campaign, with 900,000 meals allocated across cities and residential areas in Sharjah and a further 300,000 meals set for distribution in 51 countries worldwide.
The organisation said the Iftar for Fasting Persons programme is designed to support families, workers and low-income individuals who depend on daily meal assistance during the fasting month. Within Sharjah, meals will be distributed at strategically selected locations to ensure broad access for beneficiaries throughout Ramadan.
For international deliveries, Sharjah Charity International is coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to reach communities experiencing food insecurity and challenging living conditions. Overseas distributions will be implemented through local partners and humanitarian networks to ensure efficient delivery across the targeted countries.
The charity has opened multiple donation channels to support the campaign, including its website, SMS services, a dedicated call centre, smart donation screens, a mobile application and digital payment platforms such as Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. It said contributions of any amount will help expand the reach of the initiative and sustain meal distribution throughout Ramadan.
