Spotted: Canada’s Installs First “Ramadan Mubarak” Sign in Toronto
The sign will stay up throughout the month of Ramadan to celebrate the over 1.7 million Muslims citizens living in Canada.

Canada’s first official “Ramadan Mubarak” sign has been installed outside of Toronto’s city hall at Nathan Phillips Square. The sign is the result of an initiative by the Toronto Youth Muslim Council, which includes students from across 30 high schools across Toronto.
The project was led by 16-year-old Laila Soliman, a Canadian student of Egyptian heritage from The Bishop Strachan School, who worked alongside four other Toronto Youth Muslim Council members: Arqish Minhas, Miraj Siddiqui, Raheem Ebrahim and Ibrahim Rahman.
Officials said the sign will stay up throughout the month of Ramadan to celebrate the over 1.7 million Muslims citizens living in Canada. Toronto itself has the largest Muslim population in Canada, housing over 600,000 Muslim residents.
