Syrian Women Top List of Arab Nationals Marrying Egyptians in 2024
CAPMAS recorded 529 marriage contracts between Syrian women and Egyptian men in 2024.
Syrian women topped the list of Arab nationalities marrying Egyptian men in 2024, with 529 registered marriage contracts, according to data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS). The agency noted that Syrian women recorded the highest number of marriages to Egyptians among all Arab nationalities residing in the country that year.
In total, 731 marriages involving Syrian women were registered in Egypt during 2024. Of these, 127 were to Syrian men and six to Saudi men, while the majority — 529 — were to Egyptians.
Palestinian women ranked second with 271 marriages, including 198 to Egyptians, 49 to Syrians and 60 to Palestinian men. Sudanese women followed with 182 marriages, 125 of which were to Egyptians and 43 to other Arab nationalities.
The data also recorded 22 marriages involving Saudi women — 19 to Egyptians — alongside five marriages for Kuwaiti women, all to Egyptians. Jordanian women registered 92 marriages, 88 of them to Egyptians, while Libyan women recorded 10 contracts, nine involving Egyptian men.
Marriages registered for other Arab nationalities totalled 696 contracts, including 388 to Egyptians and 146 to men of other Arab nationalities.
