The Grand Egyptian Museum Hosts Egyptian Chess Championship

Egypt’s annual Chess Championship has just made it to the end of the board and is making a major comeback at the Grand Egyptian Museum this August! In typical Queen’s Gambit fashion, chess masterminds will gather to compete for a EGP 1 million grand prize amidst the actual queens and kings (and pawns, knights and rooks?) of ancient Egypt.
The announcement was made by the Egyptian Chess Federation, although the dates have yet to be revealed.
