Three More Children Die From Extreme Cold in Gaza City
The news follows after eight newborns died of hypothermia amid the brutal conditions of winter in 2025.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that three more children have died from extreme cold in Gaza City. The news comes as Israel continues to block the entry of tents and mobile homes into certain parts of Gaza.
In January 2025, eight newborns died of hypothermia and 74 children died due to the cold. “There’s been no progress and no solace. Children are now freezing to death,” Louise Wateridge from UNRWA announced.
Earlier this week, trucks carrying 15 mobile homes were sent to Gaza from Egypt through the Rafah border into the Karam Abu Salem crossing.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza has confirmed 48,346 Palestinian deaths during Israel’s aggression on Gaza, while 111,759 people have been wounded. The breakdown in Gaza’s health infrastructure means that this number may be underreported.
