Top Chef Asma Khan Launches Jeddah Restaurant to Support Businesswomen

Born in Calcutta, India and educated in London, UK, top chef Asma Khan is spending her next chapter in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She is working with Boxooo International to launch a new dining destination in the Kingdom; a culinary concept that not only offers great food, but also supports female entrepreneurship. We love a passion for food that goes beyond the plate.

In 2017, Asma Khan opened her first restaurant, Darjeeling Express, on Carnaby Street. The Indian establishment prides itself on its all-female, immigrant kitchen staff. Not only does Darjeeling Express continue to be a successful venture, Khan was the first British chef to be featured on Netflix’s ‘Chef’s Table’, sharing stories of her work and life with women in her motherland. Khan has also been named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People and a UN Chef Ambassador.

The launch of Boxooo, ‘creating a foodie future together’, coincides with Saudi’s Vision 2030 and aims to encourage female empowerment in the culinary industry.
