Tuwaiq Academy & Meta Launch Saudi's First Game Development Diploma

Tuwaiq Academy and Meta will launch Saudi Arabia’s first diploma program in game development and virtual worlds on September 15th.

Participants in the program will spend over 800 training hours across two semesters, learning to build and develop application projects under the supervision of a specialized teaching staff. Accredited by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, the program provides educational curricula that include global professional certifications, equipping trainees with essential skills such as three-dimensional (3D) modeling, developing and programming virtual worlds, and creating augmented and mixed reality applications.

"The launch of the diploma represents a significant achievement that drives efforts to adopt advanced education programs,” Meta’s head of policy programs for MENA and Türkiye, Joelle Awwad, tells SceneNowSaudi. “This includes augmented reality, which the academy offers in partnership with Meta, ensuring the readiness of Saudi talent for the requirements of the future labor market and establishing the Kingdom's position as a leading global center for augmented reality.”

Tuwaiq Academy provides specialized technical camps and educational programs in partnership with major companies such as Apple, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, and Alibaba. These programs are designed to develop local talent and enhance Saudi’s ability to innovate and create in the fields of modern technologies.
