UAE Cyber Security Council Thwarts Over 600 Cyberattacks

The UAE Cyber Security Council revealed that national systems had successfully blocked over 600 cyberattacks in recent weeks. These attacks intended to breach critical public and private sector systems, highlighting the continued vulnerability of essential infrastructure to malicious threats.

Authorities reported that emergency cybersecurity measures in coordination with relevant bodies were instrumental in identifying and preventing the attacks. The council detected a total of 634 incidents, many of which targeted sectors dealing with sensitive data, raising alarms over the potential for large-scale data leaks.

The council confirmed that in one significant breach, a hacker group called "rose87168" claimed responsibility for compromising Oracle Cloud, leading to the exposure of around 6 million customer records. As a result, the UAE government has called for heightened vigilance from both public and private institutions, urging them to strengthen cybersecurity protocols and report any suspicious activities immediately.
