UAE Passport Now 8th Most Powerful Globally

According to the Get Golden Visa Passport Ranking, the UAE passport has become the 8th most powerful passport globally in 2024, rising from 15th place in 2023. Marked by a visa-free score of 187, the passport allows citizens extensive travel access, including 45 countries that offer eVisa or visa-on-arrival options.

Several factors contribute to the UAE passport's enhanced standing. The country’s reputation as a stable and reliable destination, attracting a significant number of foreign tourists and expatriates, plays a crucial role. Additionally, the UAE's tax advantages, particularly the absence of personal income and capital gains taxes, continue to draw affluent individuals, further boosting its global appeal.

The Golden Visa program, which offers up to 10 years of residency to investors and skilled professionals, has also contributed to the UAE’s economic diversification, with over 44,000 visas issued by 2024. This initiative, along with the country’s swift recovery in the tourism sector following the relaxation of COVID-19 travel restrictions, underscores the UAE’s commitment to maintaining its global appeal.

In July 2024, the validity of the UAE passport was doubled to 10 years, reducing bureaucracy and offering greater convenience for UAE citizens, further solidifying the passport’s status as one of the most powerful in the world.
