The Egyptian government has announced that they will waive visa fees for tourists flying directly to Luxor and Aswan airports from May to October 2025.
This decision comes as part of a wider initiative aiming to boost cultural and archaeological tourism in Upper Egypt particularly during the summer season, when visitor numbers drop due to the hot weather. The decision is hoped to attract more tourists, thereby stimulating the local economy and reinforcing Egypt as a leading global tourist destination.
In addition to this, the government is also focussing on providing additional services and facilities to enhance visitors’ experiences in Luxor and Aswan.
