You Will Soon Be Able to Dine Inside Grounded Planes in Riyadh
Saudi’s newest innovation, BLVD Runway, will make you fly with your feet firmly on the ground.
No need to fasten your seatbelt, frantically make sure you haven’t left your passport on your makeup table or deal with the absolute terror that comes with forgetting your 500 ml Bum Bum Cream in your carry-on as you board these planes. Saudi Arabia’s newest Riyadh Season innovation aims to provide avid travellers with all the perks of being on a plane without actually flying.
In collaboration with national carrier Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia), the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the General Entertainment Authority (GeA) Advisor Turki Alalshikh has officially confirmed that construction of the BLVD Runway, a new attraction that promises diverse stationary experiences across five grounded planes, has commenced.
A true embodiment of “it’s the journey, not the destination”, these specialised aircrafts were not made to soar but to entertain. In an effort to finally provide us with a palatable airplane food experience that teases (instead of challenges) our taste buds, these airplanes will serve up culinary concoctions from world-renowned restaurants, including mouthwatering burgers from celebrated food truck 10/10.
If you’re wondering how you’re going to get your dose of mile-high flight elevation adrenaline, BLVD Runway’s planned horror-themed experience and soon-to-be-announced airplane-themed events will surely give you all the Final Destination feels.
And plus, you won’t have to deal with people clapping as the plane lands. Though fighting over the aisle and the window seat (if you fight over the middle seat, you have a problem) seems inevitable.
