Apri is New Cairo’s Answer to “What Do We Even Eat Today?”

Koshary with shawarma, hammam ma’mar, duck, AND Hommos El Sham under one roof?

Yes. We found ourselves at Apri in Mivida, New Cairo, doing the kind of deep-dive that starts as “let’s grab a quick bite” and somehow turns into a full tour of Egypt’s collective comfort cravings. The menu reads like someone raided every mother, teta, and street cart in the city and decided to give the whole thing a polished, grown-up wink. High quality, familiar flavours, and that unmistakable hint of “your mother cooked this… but she had help from a very chic sous-chef.”

Apri is built for every Cairo scenario: the family outing that requires both patience and carbs, the catch-up with friends that only truly begins once the food lands, even the solo breakfast you swear is “just one hour of work” before it becomes two. And yes - your pets are welcome. Which means there is genuinely no excuse left not to stay longer than planned. Apri is that place you slip into and suddenly realise you’ve spent half your day in, simply because everything you might need is already there.

Doors open from 7 AM till 1 AM, giving you a generous window to negotiate your cravings. When you go, enter Mivida through Gates 6 or 7 - the walkway ahead leads straight to Apri, along a pedestrian promenade that makes the whole thing feel like a tiny escape tucked inside Fifth Settlement.
