On November 3rd 2025, El Gouna and Flavor Republic Ventures signed a long-term agreement that will see the multidisciplinary collective behind Cairo Food Week and WHEN WE EAT steer Egypt’s Red Sea’s newest frontier: gastronomy.

With the launch of Taste El Gouna, the destination long celebrated for its art, design, and cinema now begins crafting its next legacy — one built on flavor, sustainability, and storytelling. Under the partnership, Flavor Republic Ventures will lead the strategy, programming, and creative direction of the new platform, positioning El Gouna as a global contender in gastrotourism and experiential dining.

This joint venture signals a deliberate evolution. El Gouna has already proven that a coastal town can become Egypt’s creative heartbeat — from the El Gouna Film Festival to its thriving design and entrepreneurship communities. Now, through Taste El Gouna, the town turns its gaze to food as culture, transforming its restaurants, chefs, and landscapes into part of the country’s wider creative economy.

For Flavor Republic, the collaboration extends its narrative-driven philosophy — the one that made Cairo Food Week a cultural landmark — to Egypt’s Red Sea. Through this venture, Flavor Republic will advise on El Gouna’s forthcoming gastronomy initiatives and sustainability practices while curating a year-round calendar of events spotlighting the town’s dynamic dining scene. Expect immersive weekends celebrating local produce, collaborations with internationally celebrated chefs, and cross-disciplinary experiences that connect gastronomy with art, design, and the environment.

The platform’s debut will arrive with 35 Flavors of El Gouna this November — a four-day showcase bringing chefs, 35 stars, and 35 local ingredients to the shores of Egypt’s Red Sea. But the collaboration’s ambitions extend far beyond a single weekend. Over time, Taste El Gouna will serve as the anchor of Egypt’s Red Sea's culinary identity — amplifying Egypt’s coastal ecosystem while inviting global travelers to see, and taste, it anew.
