The Brasserie Opens in Lake House, Bringing Sangria, Samba & Sinatra

The Brasserie, the newest addition to New Cairo's bustling nightlife scene, is the brainchild of Galal ElKerdani, the founder of GK Hospitality. ElKerdani, a seasoned restaurateur and hotelier renowned for his successful ventures like Brunch & Cake and The Tap East, West, South, and North, recognised New Cairo's growing appetite for exciting F&B experiences and sought to create a unique destination that caters to a wide range of clientele.

"There's a real demand for nightlife options in New Cairo," ElKerdani tells Scene Eats. "People are looking for places to go out and have fun, and The Brasserie offers a vibrant atmosphere that caters to different generations."

Aesthetically, The Brasserie blends Parisian chic with the vibrant energy of a New York jazz bar. The warm glow of lanterns, cove lights, and chandeliers contributes to its sophisticated ambiance.

Double-sided booths, reminiscent of midwestern American diners, are spotlighted by the soft light of unique M-shaped lamp posts. Whitewashed brick walls and navy wainscoting line the interior, adorned with a gallery of black-and-white celebrity portraits. A massive wooden cabinet displays a sprawling collection of wines.

Much of the magic in The Brasserie happens outside on the terrace. With a panoramic view of the Lake View gardens underneath a large blue-and-white awning, the area invites hot summer gatherings between friends with a cool pitcher of sangria.

The Brasserie's menu is a celebration of fresh, high-quality ingredients. Diners can indulge in a diverse range of beef options, including US Prime Tomahawks, BBQ ribs, and an enticing selection of steaks. Seafood lovers will be delighted with the daily flown-in fresh oysters, tiger prawns, bluefin tuna tartars, and decadent lobster rolls.

But food and drinks account for only half of the experience at The Brasserie. The other half is the music. Live jazz performances take center stage every day, creating a classy yet fun atmosphere that transforms into a lively party vibe as the night progresses.

"We're offering something truly unique in Egypt," ElKerdani explains. "The combination of non-stop entertainment, bottomless boozy brunches, and top-tier DJs creates a space where everyone can find something to enjoy."

The Brasserie's ambiance is inspired by New York’s always-burgeoning jazz scene. ElKerdanyi, drawing on his experiences growing up in the States, aims to recreate that vibrant and exciting atmosphere where something new happens every day.

"The Brasserie offers more than just a meal," ElKerdani concludes. "It's a journey“ a celebration of taste, music, and a lively atmosphere that's unlike anything else in Cairo."
