We Tried One of Egypt’s Coolest Supper Clubs. Here’s What Happened…
Surrender your taste buds: 6–8 courses, zero menu, endless surprises.
Ever wondered what it’s like to completely surrender your dinner choices to someone else? That’s the idea behind The CoolCat Experience, a pop-up supper club that’s part Omakase, part adventure, and entirely unlike any restaurant you’ve been to. For the uninitiated, Omakase is a Japanese dining style where the chef selects each course, turning the meal into a curated journey rather than a menu of choices. CoolCat Experience brings that concept to Egypt, with a playful and experimental twist.
Founded by Chef Hazem Abddghany, Ali Abu El Ezz, and Yasmin Mahrous, CoolCat is an interactive dining journey that changes with every event. Chef Hazem leads the culinary side, crafting 6–8 in-house courses per pop-up, while Ali and Yasmin shape the experience through creative direction, design, and overall event flow. Each course, including signature dishes and a custom concocted juice, is part of a new story.
Over 20 pop-ups have yielded more than 200 original recipes, with each edition shifting menus and locations. The idea is to encourage guests to place their trust in the chefs, relinquish the daily calculus of choice, and settle into a meal curated entirely on their behalf.
