The Academy of Arts will launch Pyramids Student Film Days from March 20th to 26th, 2027, creating a new international platform dedicated specifically to student cinema and films made through film schools, institutes and audiovisual arts academies.
The event will be chaired by Dr Khaled Abdel Galil, professor at the Higher Institute of Cinema and former adviser to the Minister of Culture for cinema affairs, and organised under Academy president Dr Nabila Hassan. Rather than operating as a general short film or youth showcase, the programme is centred on student filmmaking as the beginning of a professional path.
Pyramids Student Film Days will bring together students, professors, directors, writers, producers, festivals and film institutions from different countries, with a focus on creating links between film education and the wider industry. Its stated aims include exchanging expertise, encouraging cooperation among film schools and supporting emerging filmmakers as they move from study into professional practice.
