The festival will run in Cairo from December 13th to 18th, 2026, with screenings, competitions, talks and workshops.
The Cairo International Short Film Festival will return for its eighth edition from December 13th to 18th, 2026, bringing six days of film screenings, workshops and industry events to the Egyptian capital.
According to organisers, the upcoming edition will build on previous years with an expanded cinematic, cultural and professional programme designed for filmmakers and audiences alike.
The programme will once again feature the Cairo Films Platform, Live Talks and a series of specialised workshops that have attracted strong participation in previous editions. The festival aims to offer a richer experience while continuing to support emerging filmmakers and encourage dialogue between creators from around the world.
Festival Director Ahmed El Nabawy said the event has established itself among the region's leading short film festivals through sustained development and a clear long-term vision. He noted that previous editions have showcased award-winning Arab and international productions, with audience attendance growing each year.
The 2026 edition will include screenings, competitions and professional networking events aimed at strengthening engagement between filmmakers and audiences while reinforcing the festival's cultural role across the Arab region and internationally.
