Saudi-Turkish Horror Film ‘SOY’ Begins Filming in Istanbul
Based on an original story by Turki Al Shaikh, the film is written by Necati Şahin and Melih Özyılmaz, directed by Maxime Alexandre, with post-production in France.
Filming is set to begin on April 26th for ‘SOY’, a new Saudi-Turkish horror feature produced by Rozam Media, marking the company’s first project to be shot in Turkey. Production will take place entirely in Istanbul over a five-week schedule, with an international cast and crew assembled for the project.
The lead cast includes Farah Zeynep Abdullah, Barış Arduç, Tuba Büyüküstün and Tamer Levent, alongside Mohammed Yilmaz, Özge Özacar and Erdal Küçükkömürcü.
The film is based on an original story by Turki Al Shaikh and centres on a supernatural narrative exploring themes of time, memory and a curse. The screenplay is written by Necati Şahin and Melih Özyılmaz.
Direction is handled by Maxime Alexandre, in what is described as his fourth horror feature, while editing will be led by French editor Stéphane Roche. Post-production is scheduled to take place in France.
The production team includes Saner Ayar as executive producer, Delwi Gollon as producer and Yagmur Ayar as associate producer.
