Everything to Know About the 'District 5 Home by Efreshli' Exhibit
From June 6th to June 14th, Marakez’s District 5 Mall in New Cairo will host over 70 Egyptian furniture and styling brands.
Online interior decorators Efreshli will transform Marakez’s District 5 Mall in New Cairo into a haven of design and home styling from June 6th to June 14th. This exhibition, featuring over 70 homegrown Egyptian brands, promises to be a significant event for design enthusiasts and homeowners alike.
With summer approaching, Efreshli has thoughtfully curated the exhibition around four nature-inspired themes: Air, Earth, Water and Fire. Each theme will guide the arrangement of furnishing brands and design studios, creating an engaging and immersive experience for visitors.
The 'District 5 Home by Efreshli' exhibition will debut exciting new collections from beloved brands like Inca & Co., Yamiya, Sal Lighting, and Ebony & Ivory. This is a golden opportunity for local brand owners and designers to display their creativity and offer a variety of styles and budgets. Notable names such as Shewekar, Room Number 9, Flow and Zulu will also present special offers, making it a diverse showcase of Egypt's finest in home design.
Escapism is at the heart of the exhibition, with displays featuring vibrant colours, dynamic forms, and movements inspired by natural landscapes. Highlights include Kilim’s latest collection of handwoven rugs and Design Emporium’s beachscape haven, which will feature affordable French wall coverings and fabrics from Casa Deco, Casilio and Camengo.
A standout feature of the event is ‘The Designers’ Playground,’ where four leading Egyptian designers and firms - Eklego, Shewekar, JAM by Hedayat and Mohamed Said, Founder of Ebony & Ivory - will curate spaces using the brands on display. These designers will craft nature-inspired themes, demonstrating how various home environments can be beautifully styled.
The opening night promises to be insightful, with Sync hosting talks on technology and collaboration in the home furnishing industry, along with discussions on productivity and growing design businesses. Esteemed speakers include Heba ElGabaly, Founder & CEO of Efreshli, Omar Heraiz, Co-Founder & CCO of Sync, Dina ElKhachab, Principal Designer & Managing Partner at Eklego, and Karim Swelim, CEO of Kenda & Nadim Group.
In addition to the talks, the ‘Efreshli curated spaces’ will bring the online interior decorators’ work to life. This section will see eight to 10 brands curated in each space, demonstrating Efreshli's expertise in visualising complementary products together. “The curated spaces section aims to bring to life what we do online, visualising several brands together in one space and putting complementary products side by side,” Heba ElGabaly tells SceneHome.
Ashraf Maklad, Chief Commercial Officer at Marakez, reflects on the significance of the exhibition, stating, “This exhibition is a manifestation of our dedicated efforts to promote local talents and elevate the retail experience in Egypt to new levels.”
