Abu Dhabi’s Al Wahda Mall Introduces AI-Driven Ticketless Parking
The AI-powered system reads your plate, and you pay via app, QR, or machine.

Starting next week, Al Wahda Mall will debut a new smart parking system that ditches paper tickets and physical barriers. Powered by Parkonic’s AI-driven number plate recognition technology, the system logs vehicles automatically at entry and exit, calculates duration, and processes payments—all without gates or printed slips.
Unlike similar systems in Dubai that link to Salik, this one operates independently. Visitors can pay through the Parkonic app, QR codes placed around the mall, or at traditional pay stations—using either cash or card. Staff will also be available to help drivers during the rollout.
The upgrade is designed to ease congestion during peak hours and make entry and exit more seamless. Parking fees remain unchanged: the first three hours are free after 10AM, with tiered pricing applied afterward.
Shoppers can still validate their parking by presenting a store receipt and license plate number at customer service counters, including at LuLu Hypermarket—no minimum spend required.
The move is part of a wider push toward smarter infrastructure in Abu Dhabi, following similar rollouts across Mawaqif-operated public parking zones.
