Lebanese Carpet Brand 'Iwan Maktabi' Opens Flagship Store in Dubai
A standout feature of the space is the vertical gallery, which will exhibit oversized artworks through an innovative pulley system.
Iwan Maktabi, a prominent name in the handmade carpet industry since 1926, has launched its flagship store in Dubai on Jumeirah Beach Road. The newly opened 550 square meter space, housed in a transformed three-story villa designed by local firm NOMADK, serves as a gallery that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design.
The store features a dedicated area for antique carpets and textiles, alongside contemporary collections from renowned designers. Notably, it unveiled the world’s first shop-in-shop for Italian rug maker cc-tapis, featuring a collection by celebrated Iranian-French architect India Mahdavi.
A standout feature of the space is the vertical gallery within the store, which includes a triple-height atrium and will exhibit oversized artworks through an innovative pulley system. The rooftop area, offering views of Downtown Dubai, will host various events, including design talks and art exhibitions.
