Saudi Arabia Offers Benefits for Women Travelling for Umrah & Hajj
Women who book flights with Saudia Airlines and Flynas receive an added benefit of one night in a hotel.
Last year, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia started allowing women undertaking Umrah and Hajj to make their pilgrimage without requiring a male guardian (mahram) accompanying them. Since then, the Kingdom has implemented several measures to ensure a smooth and enriching travel experience for women into Saudi Arabia, whether the purpose of the journey is religious, touristic or focused on leisure.
One of these measures is the establishment of the Electronic Tourist Visa system, now accessible to citizens from 63 countries, including holders of US, UK, and Schengen visas, as well as residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Travellers are also offered Transit Visas, allowing for stays of up to 96 hours.
Women who book flights with Saudia Airlines and Flynas receive an added benefit of one night in a hotel, providing them with the opportunity to more freely explore the Kingdom and partake in Umrah rituals. Women also have the freedom to stay in hotels near the Haram, allowing easy access to the sacred sites in Makkah and Madinah.
Following the Umrah pilgrimage, women can immerse themselves in a variety of entertainment options. The city of Jeddah, for instance, is renowned as a premier shopping destination, with attractions such as the Mall of Arabia and Tahlia Street showcasing a plethora of international brands. In Makkah, visitors can explore shopping options at Al Hijaz Mall, Al Diyafa Mall, and City Center Makkah.
Additionally, the Kingdom hosts cultural events throughout the year, including the Janadriyah National Festival, the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival, and the Red Sea International Film Festival, offering a glimpse into Saudi culture and global entertainment alike.
