Organised by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, this festival pays homage to local farmers in the Al Dhafra region and celebrates the rich tradition of date cultivation. Scheduled from July 15th to the 28th in Liwa City, the festival features competitions such as the best fruit basket display, the heaviest date branch showcase, and accolades for outstanding 'date growers'. Additionally, attendees can explore model farm exhibitions, admire handicrafts, and engage in family-friendly activities at the children’s village. Over the past two decades, the Liwa Date Festival has enriched audiences with valuable insights into agricultural practices. Beyond its educational value, the festival offers a family-friendly atmosphere complete with food stalls, games, and live concerts. Entry to the festival is free, and you won’t even need to bring a date - you’ll find plenty there.
