AI Design Challenge Opens for Dubai Park With AED 200,000 Prize
The competition invites participants to redesign Al Safa 2 Park using artificial intelligence.
A new design competition is inviting architects, urban planners, landscape designers, students, researchers, startups and AI innovators to reimagine Al Safa 2 Park using artificial intelligence, with total prize money of AED 200,000.
Participants are encouraged to integrate AI throughout the design process, from site and user analysis to concept development, environmental modelling, scenario testing and visualisation. The challenge also aims to use data-driven methods to improve shade, microclimate conditions and the overall user experience within the park.
Submissions are open until August 15th through the Dubai Municipality website. Entries must include a comprehensive master plan supported by data analysis, technical drawings, visualisations and a human-centred design approach. Participants are also required to demonstrate how AI tools informed design decisions, performance optimisation and usability throughout the project.
The competition forms part of broader efforts to incorporate artificial intelligence into urban planning and public infrastructure, following the unveiling of several AI-focused urban projects, including an AI-designed public park concept.
All entries will first be evaluated by a specialist jury before progressing to a community review stage, where residents will help determine the final winners. The prize pool includes AED 100,000 for first place, AED 65,000 for second and AED 35,000 for third, with winning concepts also receiving recognition and opportunities for future implementation.
