Agentic AI Targeted for 50% of UAE Government Services in Two Years

Agentic artificial intelligence is targeted to power 50% of UAE government sectors, services and operations within the next two years, as federal entities prepare the data and technology infrastructure required for wider adoption.

The Higher Committee for Agentic AI brought together government leaders, Chief AI Officers and representatives from federal entities to coordinate the transition, with discussions covering data governance, infrastructure, platforms and integration between government systems.

A central part of the rollout will be FedAI, the Federal Agentic AI Technology Platform, which will provide government entities with shared infrastructure for developing and deploying agentic AI applications. Through the National AI Gateway, entities will be able to access multiple AI platforms from a single secure point.

The system will support both commercial AI models and open-source models hosted within sovereign infrastructure, with additional models able to be added over time.

A self-assessment framework is also being developed to classify agentic AI systems according to technical and operational criteria. The mechanism is intended to standardise implementation across government while setting governance requirements for safe and responsible use.

The wider Agentic AI Project includes five tracks covering operations and institutional support, strategic government work, government services, technology and data, and capacity building and training. More than 10 technology companies and vendors supporting agentic AI applications were also showcased during the federal workshop.
