Dubai Municipality Enables Smart Booking for Eid Sacrifices
Authorities have approved Qurbani packages while markets prepare for peak buying in the days before Eid Al Adha.
Bookings for Qurbani services have opened ahead of Eid Al Adha, with residents able to reserve sacrifices through approved smart platforms and authorised abattoirs across Dubai. The Dubai Municipality said sheep packages start at AED 350, while cow packages range between AED 2,000 and AED 2,800 depending on category.
At Al Qusais cattle market, livestock shipments continued to arrive on May 9th as preparations intensified. Trucks delivered animals from Somalia, India, and Pakistan, alongside stock sourced from local farms within the UAE.
Workers moved sheep and goats into holding areas while traders coordinated intake and prepared for increased demand. Market participants said arrivals had been slightly delayed due to regional tensions but expect sufficient supply to meet demand before the holiday.
Current market prices for sheep range from around AED 1,000 to AED 2,500, depending on breed, weight, and origin. Residents have begun visiting the market to inspect animals and compare prices, with the busiest buying period expected in the final days before Eid.
Additional shipments are anticipated in the coming days as activity at the market increases ahead of the holiday period.
