Egypt-Iran Match Won't Be Screened at New Capital's Egyptian Fan Zone
The venue will pause operations for two days over concerns about screen visibility.
The Egyptian Fan Zone in the New Capital will not host screenings during Egypt's upcoming World Cup match against Iran, with operations set to pause for 48 hours on Friday, June 26th and Saturday, June 27th.
According to the venue's management, the temporary closure applies only to those two days, meaning the Egypt-Iran fixture will not be shown at the site.
The decision followed technical reviews which indicated that direct sunlight during the scheduled match time could affect image clarity on the main screen, particularly during the second half.
Management said the move was intended to preserve the viewing experience for spectators when screenings resume, citing the strong turnout recorded during previous 2026 World Cup broadcasts.
The suspension is limited to the two-day period and will not extend beyond that timeframe, meaning fans planning to watch the match will need to seek alternative venues.
According to the operator, the Egyptian Fan Zone will resume welcoming visitors from the Round of 32 onward and plans to continue screening matches through to the 2026 World Cup final.
