JLT Link Electric Bus Begins Service in Dubai With Free Rides

The JLT Link electric bus service began operating in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), providing a new community shuttle connecting the neighbourhood with nearby Dubai Metro stations.

During the launch period, passengers can travel free of charge before the service transitions to its regular AED 3 fare. According to commuters using the service, fares are expected to come into effect from Monday following the launch weekend.

The service operates on two circular routes. One loop connects the western side of JLT, serving clusters A to N and DMCC Metro Station, while the second links clusters O to Z with Sobha Realty Metro Station. Buses stop at existing Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) bus stops throughout the community to pick up and drop off passengers.

A full circuit between Sobha Realty Metro Station and the eastern clusters typically takes between 10 and 22 minutes, depending on traffic conditions and the time of day. The service is expected to run every 20 to 30 minutes, with passengers able to pay by scanning a code onboard once fares are introduced.
