The Ministry of Military Production is developing a new strategy to modernise its affiliated companies through digital transformation, artificial intelligence and upgraded manufacturing systems as part of broader efforts to strengthen local industrial capabilities.

The strategy was discussed during a meeting between Minister of State for Military Production Salah Gamblat and a delegation from Intel, where both sides explored potential cooperation in advanced manufacturing technologies and digital infrastructure.

According to the ministry, the strategy will focus on expanding the use of industrial software, deploying AI across production lines and supply chains, and establishing an integrated smart software ecosystem to improve operational efficiency, increase productivity and modernise manufacturing processes. Gamblat said the initiative aligns with directives to localise advanced technologies, deepen domestic manufacturing and maximise the ministry's industrial and technological capabilities.

The discussions also covered cooperation on embedded AI, industrial software platforms, server technologies for data centres, Ethernet networking, edge AI solutions and artificial intelligence applications for drones, smart cameras and AI Box systems. The ministry said these projects are intended to support technology transfer, develop local expertise and build a stronger digital industrial base.

Intel representatives outlined plans for a long-term strategic partnership centred on artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and technology transfer. Both sides agreed to continue technical discussions to develop a roadmap for future cooperation aimed at supporting Egypt's transition towards a more competitive, knowledge-based digital economy.
